Roaring 20 winner: Hightower Construction
Celebrating 50 years in business, Hightower Construction Co. Inc. attributes its growth and success to top-level employees and a solid commitment to customer service.
Our growth and success is due to the strength of our employees and their support of our business philosophy of Doing Whatever it Takes for Customer Satisfaction, said Jimmy Hightower, company president. We have a long list of employees that have worked with us for many years. This dedication to the company is a key element of our success.
The result is repeat customers and a 96% increase in revenue between 2005 and 2006.
Hightower said the design and construction services firm has maintained its growth because of regular strategic planning that incorporates all levels of the firms work force.
We critique our strengths, weaknesses and opportunities and respond accordingly in order to provide our clients a successful project, he said.
While staying true to its mission, Hightower Construction recognizes the need to modify its business plan to accommodate growth.
With growth, our business and strategic plan has become more focused, more targeted, more employee-based and more verbal, Hightower said. Communication has become our primary challenge. Our employee work force has grown in both talent and in numbers. We have streamlined the office financial and organizational work with up-to-date computer programs, created a clearly defined organizational chart to ensure the future of Hightower and set up consultant teams within the company to constantly monitor and control our stated path.
Looking ahead, Hightower said the construction firm is setting high goals for its team members, listening hard to repeat and future customers and engaging in forward planning.
We will continue to focus on the growth locally and be a part of the evolving community, he said. We are also building new offices to accommodate our growth and secure our future and are actively planning for the next 50 years of offering valued services.
