Clint Carter has joined Zafari Inc. in Mount Pleasant as its newest graphic designer. Prior to joining Zafari, Carter worked as marketing director for Charleston Stage.

 

Eric W. Trapp has joined Dominion Partners as national director of dining services. Trapp has been in the food service industry since 1989 and in the senior living sector for eight years. Most recently he was district manager of dining services for Brookdale Senior Living in Chicago.

 

Duvall Catering & Event Design named Richard Plaistowe pastry chef and Christina Buchspics assistant pastry chef. Plaistowe is formerly of Peninsula Grill and Buchspics is formerly of Kaminsky’s. 

 

Brittney Wofford was appointed deputy coroner in Charleston County. Prior to joining the coroner’s office, Wofford was with the S.C. Department of Probation and Parole and the Mount Pleasant Police Department. 

 

Charleston’s Department of Planning, Preservation, Development and Economic Innovation has named Sharon Brennan as the executive director of the Local Development Corp. and Stephanie Leonard Yarbrough as the new director of economic development. Brennan joined the city in 1988 and, since 1999, has served as the director of economic development while also overseeing the operations of the Local Development Corp. Yarbrough joined the city’s economic development team in 2006.

 

HCA Carolina Market has named Joe B. Hill Jr. vice president of human resources. Hill most recently served as director of human resources position at StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tenn.

 

Jennifer Smith has joined Healthquest Pharmacy as director of business development, and Donna Shelton has been named lead consultant pharmacist. 

 

Select Health of South Carolina promoted Lillian Suarez and Tina Davis to regional directors of sales promotion and marketing. Both Suarez and Davis held previous positions with Select Health as marketing supervisors and marketing managers.

 

Ben Simon has been named director of tennis programs at the Harper Wellness Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Simon joined MUSC’s tennis pro staff in 2005 and previously worked at Myrtle Beach’s Wachesaw Plantation.

 

Deborah A. DeAngles has joined South Carolina Bank and Trust’s Charleston office as a mortgage processor.

 

Carolina Capital Management on Daniel Island has hired Ryan Zelaski as a financial representative. Zelaski has completed the Series 6 Investment Company and Variable Contracts exam.

 

Mark Rogan has joined The Mutual Fund Store in Mount Pleasant as managing partner.

 

Harbor National Bank has promoted Morgan McKnight to assistant controller at the West Ashley branch location. McKnight has worked for several years as an accountant.

 

Barbara Bruggemann has joined Elaine Brabham and Associates Real Estate. She has 20 years of federal service with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Columbia and Miami and has also worked with the S.C. Education Lottery.

 

Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International Inc. in North Charleston has added a new agent: Scott Genesevich, a 2006 graduate of the College of Charleston.

 

Healthy Realty has hired Beth Rowlett as a sales associate, and Mikki Ramey as the broker-in-charge.

 

Lynne Cotton has joined Weichert Realtors Dean-Kelby in its Mount Pleasant office. Prior to real estate, Cotton worked in banking and retail sales. Scott Johnson also has joined the Mount Pleasant office. Johnson specializes in residential and new home construction sales.

 

Brian Kane has joined the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at the College of Charleston as assistant director/curator. Previously, Kane worked at the Gibbes Museum of Art as the preparator and exhibit designer.

 

Franchisemart, where entrepreneurs research business opportunities before investing, has opened a new store at 3032 West Montague Ave. in The Markets at Montague. It is owned by local residents Barry and Allison Bodiford.

 

Anytime Fitness, a 24-hour fitness, tanning and reciprocal membership franchise, is open for business in the Brickyard Crossing Shopping Center in Summerville.

 

Interiors by Flooring Services, the Daniel Island showroom of Flooring Services Inc. at 455 Deanna Lane, is now open to the public by appointment and offers complimentary design consultation.

 

Southern Color N.A. has opened its new 60,000-square-foot cement coloring facility in Harleyville, joining other company facilities in providing custom color blending services for the residential and commercial building and construction industry.

 

Glasspro Inc. and Carolina Car Care have launched the Glasspro Pit Stop Quick Lube & Car Wash across from Towne Centre in Mount Pleasant. Formerly Carolina Car Care, the new Glasspro Pit Stop offers quick lube service, car wash packages and detailing, as well as Glasspro’s 20-minute auto glass repair service.

 

Kenton Barham Morrison has joined Trident United Way as vice president of major gifts and planned giving, and Mary Girault has joined as director of marketing and events. Morrison most recently was director of development for the Gibbes Museum of Art. Girault most recently was the communications officer for Charleston County School District.

 

GEL Engineering LLC announced Sandra Chzasz has joined the firm as a project manager within the permitting and compliance group. As a former manager at Giant Resource Recovery, Chzasz brings more than eight years of industrial client relationship management to the company. 

 

Charleston real estate law firm Buist, Byars & Taylor LLC has named Amanda L. Callander and G. Hamlin O’Kelley III principals of the firm. Callander, who joined the firm in 2004, focuses her practice on the commercial real estate division and is located at the Mount Pleasant office. O’Kelley, who has also been with the firm since 2004, leads the firm’s litigation practice and also is located in Mount Pleasant.

 

J. Cody Baker of Charleston Marine Containers Inc. has been promoted to vice president of operations. He previously served as director of manufacturing for production.

 

American LaFrance named Michael Gordon director of sales, marketing and customer support for fire. Gordon had previously been the director of product marketing fire for American LaFrance.

 

Homewood Suites by Hilton in Mount Pleasant has promoted Jen LaRue to general manager. She was previously a travel manager for Virginia Inn Management.

 

Complete Building Corp. in Charleston hired Bob Mullens as business development director. Previously, Mullens was vice president of Region’s Bank.

 

Charles Blanchard Construction has hired Robert Caldwell as general superintendent for its industrial mechanical division. He brings over 30 years experience in the construction industry.
