Brian Burke joined The Martin Law Firm as an associate. Burke practices criminal, domestic and civil litigation.
Daniel J. Body, the former CEO of Palmetto Behavioral Health System, has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLPs health care team and will be based in the firms Charleston office. Body has more than 15 years experience serving in executive positions at several health care facilities across the country.
Amanda R. Maybank has joined Maybank Law Firm LLC. Prior to joining the firm, Maybank was a law clerk to Chief Justice Elizabeth Weaver of the Michigan Supreme Court, a staff attorney for the S.C. Supreme Court and, most recently, practiced complex litigation with Pratt-Thomas Epting and Walker PA. Maybank specializes in appellate law, commercial litigation, business litigation and construction law.
Buist Byars & Taylor LLC, formerly Buist Byars Pearce & Taylor, hired Jay Brown as the new managing attorney for the firms Mount Pleasant residential real estate practice. Brown most recently served as managing attorney in the firms North Charleston office.
A new interior design firm, Parker-Sims Interiors, has opened. Adrian Sims, featured interior designer, partnered with Ivie Parker, principal business manager, to launch the firm, which is dedicated to emerging trends and innovations.
A joint real estate and interior design firm called Maisonne has opened. The owners are Anna Lassiter and Mike Gruenloh and the associate is Amy Zonarich.
Dr. Brian Sullivan, former senior staff psychologist at the College of Charlestons Counseling and Substance Abuse Services Center, has been promoted to the position of associate director for the center. Sullivan, immediate past president of the S.C. Psychological Association, is also the owner and manager of Lifeworks LLC in Mount Pleasant, the regions first and only explicitly inter-disciplinary mental health and wellness practice that combines counseling, life coaching and family law service professionals.
Ronald F. Green has been named dean of The Citadel School of Business Administration, effective July 1. Green will replace Earl Walker, who has been dean of the business school since 2001.
Marni Melnick, Jennifer Connell and Rynn Yates have been named as assistant directors of admissions for The Art Institute of Charleston. Rachel Sullivan has been appointed as an admissions coordinator for the institute. Melnick worked for Waverly Heights Retirement Community in Gladwyne, Pa., as the human resources coordinator and at CareersUSA in Philadelphia as an account executive in recruitment. Connell worked in development at the S.C. Aquarium. Yates was a territory account manager with American Tire Distributors in Charleston. Sullivan was previously a restaurant manger in Mount Pleasant.
The Southern Shores Real Estate Group hired Amber Ibrahim to its Charleston office. Ibrahim will serve as the companys lead closing coordinator and staff administrative specialist.
Stacey Britton has been promoted from assistant property manager to site property manager of The Sergeant Jasper Apartments. She will be responsible for efficiency, turnover rate, occupancy and resident satisfaction among other tasks for the community.
