Golf tournament to provide more than 6,300 meals

More than 120 sponsors helped raise more than $25,000 at the 2006 East Cooper Meals on Wheels Outback Charity Golf Classic. The funds from the event will provide at least 6,300 hot meals during 2007. MPBPA spreads wealth to five local charities

The Mount Pleasant Business and Professional Association honored five area charities with financial donations in what has become an annual tradition with the East Cooper networking organization. The five charities were each presented checks for $500. Target sponsors local reading program

Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country has partnered with Target Inc. to sponsor the Daisy READ program. Daisy READ, or Reading Encourages Achievers and Dreamers, is a pre-literacy program delivered to girls currently enrolled in targeted Head Start programs and in community centers throughout Girl Scouts of Carolina Low Country’s nine-county service area.
