The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation announced Jennifer Revels as executive director. Revels previously worked with the Palmetto Conservation Foundation as its historic preservation planner.
Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area Inc. announced the hiring of three senior staff positions: Lisa Belton as the coordinator of the S.A.F.E. Initiative on Johns Island, Caren Putzu as the leader of the James Island Dropout Prevention Initiative and Gordon Robertson III as the resource development coordinator. Belton has 15 years of experience in social services. She is a licensed professional counselor and a certified addictions counselor. Putzu previously worked with the Department of Mental Health. Robertson has 12 years of nonprofit experience. He previously practiced law in Seattle.
James D. Morrill joined the John Ancrum SPCA as its director of administration. Morrill was previously senior vice president at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh for 28 years in a variety of financial, operations and systems positions.
Thomas Horvath and Janie Ironmonger have joined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as real estate agents. Horvath, who will work out of the Mount Pleasant office, was previously a real estate agent with the Derbyshire team at Premier Properties of Charleston. Ironmonger, who will work out of the Johns Island office, was previously a store manager for Talbots Inc.
Kristin LeMaster has joined the Summerville office of Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties. She previously worked with Coldwell Banker Caine in Spartanburg. LeMaster is a graduate of the Wyatt Institute of Real Estate and has received her Realtor designation.
EXiT Realty Charleston Group announced the addition of three new real estate agents. J. Benee Wallace, who will work in the north office, specializes in residential real estate in the Charleston area. She previously worked for 17 years as a paralegal for the Motley Rice law firm. Lynn Brown, who will also work in the north office, will focus on residential transactions. She was previously a real estate appraiser apprentice, as well as a schoolteacher. Eva Javier will work in residential real estate from the companys main office but will move to the new Goose Creek office in spring 2006. Javier previously worked with Premier Properties of Charleston, Reiland Lake Realty and Atlantic Coast Financial Group.
Sonya Slayton, Phil Tompkins, Linda Bush, Sarah Wilkinson, Michael Dickey, Linda Brinkley, Lennie Venning and Madie Araujo have joined the Mount Pleasant office of AgentOwned Realty. Slayton has a bachelors degree in education from Mississippi State University. Tompkins has worked in sales with IBM and Hewlett-Packard. Bush has 20 years of experience in the areas of sales and customer service. Wilkinson is currently attending Trident Technical College where she is studying business.
Pratt-Thomas&Gumb, CPAs announced the promotions of Beth Dwyer and Carrie Lanning. Dwyer, a member of the firms tax department, has been promoted to director of management information systems. Lanning has been promoted to the position of manager in the tax department.
McKnight Frampton CPAs LLC announced that Tommy Taylor, Melonie Hammond-Trace and Hank Ohlandt have been elected members of the firm. Michael E. Bryant has also joined the firm. Taylors areas of expertise are personal and corporate taxation, as well as governmental and nonprofit audits. Hammond-Traces areas of expertise involve individual and corporate taxation, nonprofit accounting and personal service companies. Ohlandts areas of expertise involve partnership, personal and corporate taxation, as well as financial statement compilation. Bryant will work with the firm in the areas of audit, tax, business advisory services and business development.
Richard Westfall joined WebsterRogers as a staff member. He works with the firms tax and audit groups. He previously worked for a national CPA firm in Atlanta.
Gamble Givens & Moody LLC announced the hiring of Hycles Montgomery, Kira Wood, Matt Watson and Wenzhen Xiao. Montgomery is from Brazil and earned a bachelors degree in accounting from the College of Charleston. Wood earned a masters degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina. Watson earned a bachelors degree in finance from Clemson University. Wenzhen earned a bachelors degree in accounting and finance from Coastal Carolina University and a bachelors degree in English and trading from Fuzhou University in Fujian, China.
Carl Ragos and Zach Dukes have joined B.P. Barber and Associates. Ragos joins the water/wastewater group as a senior CAD tech. He was previously employed with MeadWestvaco for 11 years. Dukes joins the land development and water/wastewater groups as an engineering associate. He was previously employed at the wind load testing facility at Clemson University for three years.
Multisystemic Therapy Institute has named Kristen Crigler as its new Web specialist. Crigler will support Web-based data systems for the organization and joins a team responsible for Web site maintenance, enhancements and projects. She previously worked for the Childrens Hospital in Richmond, Va., where she was a business systems analyst and developer.
Casey Timer and Stephanie Tilton have joined CarePoint Inc. as account representatives. Timer previously worked as a pharmacy technician in the Charleston area. Tilton has a bachelors degree in psychology.
The Advanced Technology Institute announced the promotion of Rick Self to president. Self joined the company in 1997 and rose to senior vice president in charge of the advanced maritime technology business unit. He served as a nuclear engineer and submarine commander in the U.S. Navy before joining ATI.
Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced that Bryan L. Walpole has become a partner in the firm. Walpole represents mortgage portfolio servicers.
Poogans Porch announced four staff promotions. Brad Ball has been promoted from general manager to managing partner. He recently returned from New York where he graduated from the French Culinary Program. Robert Dorner has been promoted to executive chef. Dorner has worked as executive sous chef at Poogans for a year. Nicole Anhalt recently took the post of the restaurants head pastry chef. She previously worked in New York as head pastry chef for World Yacht and Aquavit. Jordan Daniels joined Poogans Porchs staff in May 2005. He was promoted to executive sous chef.
The Gibbes Museum of Art announced Sarah Hilsheimer as the sales and special events coordinator. She previously worked in sales with the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott in Orlando, Fla., and the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Hilsheimer will focus on increasing paid participation in all aspects of museum operations, including general admission, group tours, adult and community programs, art classes, rentals and special events.
Dan McCue has joined the Charleston Regional Business Journal as a staff writer. McCue previously worked with LRP Publications as editor of several of its legal publications, including the Disability Compliance Bulletin. Prior to that, he wrote for The Stuart News in Martin County, Fla., and Anton Community Newspapers in Long Island, New York. He has 17 years of experience in the communications industry.
Arcadia Publishing announced several personnel changes. Lauren Bobier has been promoted to Southern publisher. She joined Arcadia as an acquisitions editor in June 2004 and was promoted to senior acquisitions editor in June 2005. Bobier previously worked as an acquisitions editor for McDonald & Woodward. Lindsey Miller is the publicity manager. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelors degree in journalism and mass communication. Liliana Reino is a new customer service representative. She has a bachelors degree in business administration from Del Norte University in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Nina Sossamon has been named executive editor of the Greater Charleston edition of the Pink and Blue Pages. Sossamon is currently the evening anchor on ABC News 4. The Pink and Blue Pages prints and distributes 75,000 complimentary A to Z family resource directories twice each year in the Charleston area.
WCSC-TV announced the promotions of Mary Rigby, Jodi Mohrmann and Shawn Nottingham to news director, assistant news director and managing editor, respectively. Rigby was the interim news director at WCSC-TV for the past two months and assistant news director for the past five years. Mohrmann, a former executive producer at WCSC-TV, will now assume the role vacated by Rigby and will be responsible for news department functions, including news content and delivery. Nottingham will be responsible for all editorial content, the development and execution of WCSC-TVs daily news gathering activities, reviewing of scripts and rundowns, and will have editorial review of all stories that air on WCSC-TV. Nottingham also retains his duties as assignment editor, setting news coverage priorities, organizing the logistics of camera crews and reporters, and arranging for the various satellite feeds and live on-scene coverage.

He previously owned his own company, Crosby Quarters Inc. Scott Utsey joins the land development team as an assistant. Utsey previously worked with LESCO as an assistant sales manager. Tyler Gibbons joins as a builder assistant. He previously worked for TLC Enterprises on Kiawah Island. Don Beaulieu joins as a customer care representative. He previously worked for a homebuilder in North Carolina.
