Water Missions purification system headed to Cook Islands
Water Missions International, a nonprofit based on Charleston, announced the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club of Santa Clarita, Calif., has purchased one of its water purification systems to send to the Cook Islands. Cyclones frequently strike the South Pacific nation with devastating effects, leaving inhabitants without safe water. The Water Missions system, which can be transported in a pickup truck, can be set up within hours to purify up to 10,000 gallons of water per day from nearly any fresh water source.
