Charitable Society donates to pair of local efforts
The Charitable Society of Charleston, a local volunteer organization made up of young professionals, recently donated $1,900 to both Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding and the St. James Santee Foundation. Lions Club donates $19,000 to Storm Eye
The Charleston Lions Club raised $19,000 to support eye research at its 11th annual Golf Classic, held in June at the Crooked Oaks Golf Course on Seabrook Island. The money raised was donated to the Medical University of South Carolinas Storm Eye Insitute. Knology golf tournament nets $13,000 for childrens hospital
Knology representatives raised $13,000 for MUSC Childrens Hospital in the telecommunications companys annual charity golf tournament. The donation was made during WCSC-TVs broadcast of the Childrens Mircle Network Telethon, which raised $1.8 million for the childrens hospital.
