The South Carolina Collectors Association named R. Kelly Molony vice president and Sherry Edgin secretary and treasurer of the volunteer leaders officers for its 2006-07 fiscal year.

Scott Woods, president and chief executive officer of the South Carolina Credit Union, was elected to the board of directors of the South Carolina Credit Union League.

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd PA named Jeremy L. Cook to the board of trustees of Leadership South Carolina.

The U.S. Department of Commerce appointed South Carolina Research Authority’s Bob Kiggans to serve as the U.S. head of delegation for the global Intelligent Manufacturing Systems program.

The Institute of Internal Auditors’ Coastal Carolina chapter announced the following officers for 2006-07: Douglas R. Fioto, South Carolina State Ports Authority, president; Darryl E. Wesolek, South Carolina State Ports Authority, vice president; Aaron Q. Alston, Charleston Water System, second vice president, Bruce D. Havens, Santee Cooper, treasurer; and Renë Wall, Charleston Water System, secretary.

The National Republican Congressional Committee announced Ingrid Tugwell, owner and CEO of PST Computer Training and member of the Trident Workforce Investment Board, will serve as honorary chairman on the business advisory council in recognition of her dedication to the Republican Party.

The Charitable Society of Charleston announced its 2006-2007 board of directors: Courtney Ellicott, Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital Fund, president; Dana McMurry, Gamble Givens & Moody, vice president; Shannon Hicks, South Carolina DHEC Ocean & Coastal Resource Management, treasurer; Paul Carroll, Applied Tech and Management; Allison Carter, Keller Williams; Ryan Edwards, Blackbaud; James Fuller, Orbis; Katherine Gage, Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises; Glen Gardner, Wertimer and Associates; Amie Grimes, Piggly Wiggly; Sara Nash, The Commonwealth; and Suzanne Shalaby, The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island.

Anna M. Richardson was named executive director of the nonprofit organization Lowcountry Earth Force.

Richardson Patrick attorney James L. Ward Jr. has been appointed to the American Trial Lawyers Association’s Seventh Amendment Task Force.

East Cooper Habitat for Humanity named nine new board members: Charlie Cole, retired senior vice president, Wachovia; Forrest Foshee, vice president, S&ME; Anthony Freeman, owner and CEO, A. Freeman Accounting and Tax Services; John McQueen, accounting technician, Freeman Accounting and Tax Services; Pat Neuhaus, real estate agent, Century 21 Properties; John Royall, owner, Royall Hardware; Elijah Smalls, retired respiratory therapist; Allie Wethington, mortgage advisor, Countrywide Home Loans; and Tony Woody, civil engineer, Thomas and Hutton Engineering

Charles F. Castner, special counsel for Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, was appointed to serve as legal counsel for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.

The education foundation of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce announced its board of directors and executive committee for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. John B. Hardaway III, a member of the Nexsen Pruet law firm, was voted chairman-elect of the United States section of an international group of patent and trademark attorneys.

David B. McCormack, of Buist Moore Smythe McGee PA, was named a fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. This appointment is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
