Carolina Park kicks off five-year pledge with donation to YouthQuest

Carolina Park has announced its first donation of a five-year commitment to community service organizations will go to Mount Pleasant’s YouthQuest Foundation, funding 25 youths to participate in YouthQuest’s Summer Adventure Trip. Carolina Park, a master-planned Mount Pleasant community, has pledged $100,000 a year for the next five years to help area organizations serving disadvantaged and minority individuals. Arby’s golf event raises $70,000 for Carolina Youth Development Center

The Arby’s Charity Tournament at Bulls Bay Golf Club raised an event-record $70,000 for Carolina Youth Development Center and its mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters. This is the eighth year the event has been held in Charleston in conjunction with the Arby’s Foundation. The Charleston Battery was the presenting sponsor for the tournament. East Cooper Habitat for Humanity donation used for new truck

A $15,000 joint donation from The Exchange Club of Charleston and The Coastal Carolina Fair has allowed East Cooper Habitat for Humanity to purchase a new pickup truck for construction purposes. The truck will allow East Cooper Habitat to transport building materials for the homes it is currently building in the Greenhill and Phillips communities of Mount Pleasant.

Windwood Farm Home for Children receives gift from Food Lion

Windwood Farm Home for Children, a residential treatment center for abused, neglected and at-risk children, has received $5,000 from the Food Lion Charitable Foundation. Windwood Farm will use the gift to fund materials and resources for a proposed Environmental Education Center on its property, as as well as provide field trip scholarships to the center for youths from the surrounding area.
