John C. von Lehe Jr. , a partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Charleston office, has received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor. Von Lehe served as a former assistant attorney general assigned to the South Carolina Tax Commission and served former Gov. Carroll Campbell as co-chair of his Economic Development Committee. He has also served on the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees, and is a former chairman of the board of the State Museum Commission, the immediate past chairman of the Charleston Museum, a former president of the South Carolina Bar Foundation and a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Custom Development Solutions Inc. , a full-service fundraising consulting firm, has been retained by Newberry College and Mitchell College to assist in planning capital campaigns for the two schools.

Navigational Sciences Inc. , a products and services company specializing in radio-frequency communications, wireless security and intermodal logistics, has named E. Boineau & Co. its marketing and public relations agency of record.

The South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored winners of its annual Mercury Awards competition: Adie Lee, publicity manager, Arcadia Publishing, won a Silver Wing Award of Merit in the Press Kits/Media Kits category for Green Bay Packers: Legend in Green and Gold. Kelly Hamilton, marketing coordinator, Arcadia Publishing, won a Silver Wing Award in the Press Kits/Media Kits category for Cotton: From Southern Fields to the Memphis Market.

General Wholesale Distributors, the exclusive South Carolina distributor for Trane Air Conditioning, Heating and Clean Air products, announced P & H Mechanical of Summerville has received the Distinguished Dealer Award. The award is given to independent Trane dealers who operate their businesses in a manner to advance their reputation as a retailer of quality air conditioning and heating systems.

The Citadel’s College of Graduate and Professional Studies awarded the first J. Patrick Leverett Award to Melissa Mitchell-Blitch. The award is to be presented annually to an outstanding graduate of the Department of Psychology’s master’s degree program in clinical counseling. The psychology department also presented the Aline Mahan Award to Kathleen Beebe. The award recognizes outstanding scholarship, technical skill and community service. The college’s School of Education presented the Hirshey Award for Excellence in Graduate Studies to Tina Marie Ferguson and Jacob B. Tuttle.

Century 21 Properties Plus announced that Jackie Wall, Kimberly Lease, Susie Baird, Bobette Fisher, Dianne Broom and Drew Sineath have earned the Centurion Producer Award. The Centurion Producer Award honors Century 21 System sales associates who earn $190,000 in sales production or 60 closed transaction sides in a calendar year. The company also announced that Nancy Rehm, Jeff Bills and Faye Merritt have earned the Centurion Masters Diamond Award, awarded to sales associates who have reached $176,000-$208,999 in adjusted gross commission or 50-59 units. Candace Palmer earned the Masters Ruby Award for reaching $110,000-$142,999 in adjusted gross commission or 30-39 units.

The Century 21 Properties Plus Mount Pleasant office was honored with the Century 21 System’s Centurion Office Award. The Centurion Office Award honors offices that have reached $1,749,000-$3,497,999 in adjusted gross commission or 400-799 units.

The Century 21 Properties Plus Summerville office announced the following distinctions: Doug and Dyana Winchester earned the Masters Diamond Award; Tenia and John Cattles earned the Masters Emerald Award, for $130,000 to $159,999 in adjusted gross commissions or 40-49 units; and Brenda Winters and Donna Converse earned the Masters Ruby Award.

Century 21 Properties Plus’ Johns Island office announced that Debbie Mansfield and Susanne Scholz received the Masters Ruby Award.

The Century 21 Properties Plus Summerville office was recognized as a Century 21 Gold Medallion Office at the annual Century 21 Carolinas Region Sales Rally banquet in Charlotte, N.C.

Florence-Darlington Technical College, in partnership with the South Carolina World Trade Center, was awarded an International Trade Education Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant of $110,000 is aimed to fund activities to internationalize the coastal and Pee Dee regions of South Carolina.

John F. Rink Jr. , DDS, achieved accredited status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry through his dedication to continuing education and careful adherence to clinical protocol.

Howard Arnoff with Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties has been awarded the Accredited Buyer Representation designation by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Inc. of the National Association of Realtors.

Charlotte Anderson, Cathy Scaramella, John Boyle, Sonia Donnelly, Caroline Byrd, Sally Burnett, Beverly Tallent and Tomoya Attles, the staff of Trident United Way’s 211 Hotline, including both service center directors, have achieved national certification in information and referral through the Association of Information and Referral Specialists.

Andrea Nagel, a women’s services nurse at East Cooper Regional Medical Center, was selected for Tenet Healthcare Corp.’s Caregiver Hall of Fame.

East Cooper Regional Medical Center was selected to Tenet Healthcare Corp.’s 2006 Circle of Excellence, which honors those Tenet hospitals that have performed at the highest levels in the past year in the areas of quality, service and operation performance.

The Citadel School of Business Administration honored Mark A. Bebensee as its MBA Outstanding Professor of the Year and Brunella Caldas as its MBA Outstanding Student of the Year.

Retired businessman Carl Renken, Suffragen Bishop William Jones Skilton, South Carolina Adjutant General Stan Spears, State Senator John Courson, Indiana Congressman Steve Buyer and General Peter Pace received honorary degrees from The Citadel’s Board of Visitors during the college’s commencement.

The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Quarter, First Quarter 2006, is Wendy Mueller, an independent distributor with Juice Plus+.

North Charleston’s ProPac Inc. was awarded a $12 million contract from the American Red Cross for disaster preparedness goods for stockpile.

Summerville Homes LLC was named as Business of the Quarter, First Quarter 2006, by the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce.
