Publix donates to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity

Publix Super Markets Charities presented a $4,000 donation to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to help eliminate poverty housing in Dorchester County. Brower family claims a new home

Karina Brower and her three sons, Patrick, Austin and Tristen, were the guests of honor at a Habitat for Humanity house dedication ceremony. Ronald McDonald House has a blast for kids

The Ronald McDonald House secured the detonation of the back center span of the Grace Memorial Bridge over Town Creek in the Cooper River bridge removal project in addition to the detonation of the main span of the Grace bridge over the Cooper River as part of the “Bridge Blast for the Kids!” fundraiser. The drawing for the demolition of the back center span is scheduled to occur in January. Money raised from the raffle tickets will be used to support the expansion of the Charleston Ronald McDonald House.

Real estate office hosts fundraiser for Easter Seals

Century 21 Properties Plus and Home Plus Mortgage hosted a golf tournament at the Dunes West Golf Course that raised funds to support Easter Seals South Carolina. All net proceeds from the tournament, including monies raised through raffle items, hole sponsors, putting contest and mulligans, will be donated to Easter Seals to help children and adults with disabilities in the area. The winning team from the event was Whit Templeton, John Reedy, Jeff Manheimer and Paul Hutto.

Sea Island Habitat representatives travel to Washington

Troy Pruitt from Sea Island Habitat for Humanity traveled to Washington to help build a house on the National Mall. The Mall served as a construction zone as Habitat and Freddie Mac teamed up to build homes that will help house families affected by hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region. During the Washington build, frames for 51 homes were completed, representing each state and the District of Columbia. Sea Island Habitat for Humanity was invited to send a representative because it is a top performing affiliate in South Carolina.

Outreach program collects toys for Christmas season

Our Lady of Mercy Children’s Outreach Benefit Christmas Party was held at the home of Steve Koenig on Johns Island. Each guest brought a special toy, and the presents were distributed to the children of the families who participate in the educational programs of the Outreach. The gathering was sponsored by Steven J. Koenig Construction, Avalon Home Management, Crest Industries, J. Rhodes Interior Design and The Mill.
