Cherie Blackburn of Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough was one of 34 firm attorneys included in The Best Lawyers in America. Blackburn, who practices labor and employment litigation and intellectual property, was honored by Best Lawyers for the first time.
ConventionSouth Magazine named Dave Felix and Jen Smith as “Meeting Professionals to Watch in 2005.” Felix is the director of client services for Planning the Globe, a global meeting and event planning company. This is the second consecutive year Felix has received this accolade. Smith is the meetings and events manager for PTG.
Booz Allen Hamilton was named to Fortune magazine’s annual “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. The global strategy and technology firm has 70 employees, largely serving the Space and Naval Warfare Command Charleston. Booz Allen ranked 75th overall in its first year of participation.
Curtis Russell was named the 2004 Mortgage Lender Associate of the Year by the Mortgage Lenders Association of Greater Charles-ton. Russell owns Russell Appraisal Services Inc. and is broker-in-charge of Century 21 Russell Realty Inc.
National Bank of South Carolina is celebrating 100 years of banking service to South Carolina individuals, families and businesses. Gov. Mark Sanford declared Feb. 17 as “NBSC Day.” To commemorate the anniversary, employees are contributing 500 hours of community service to nonprofit organizations. Additional activities include a statewide back-to-school supply drive, the 19th annual Greatest Grandparents contest and a statewide Thanksgiving food drive. In December, NBSC representatives will plant 100 trees across the state in honor of South Carolina’s Arbor Day and the bank’s South Carolina roots.
Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp. earned the ranking for “Highest Overall Satisfaction For Repeat Home Buyers Among National Full Service Real Estate Firms” from J.D. Power and Associates. The J.D. Power and Associates “2004 Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction Study” found the Coldwell Banker brand ranked higher than other national real estate brands in “goodwill” and “broker relations” among repeat home buyers.
F. Joe Fisher of Cullum Constructors Inc. received the Charle-ston Engineers Joint Council’s Engineer of the Year award for outstanding achievements in engineering throughout his 36 years in the profession.
Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties was awarded the Coldwell Banker President’s Award of Honor, a distinction limited to 106 firms of the more than 1,200 Coldwell Banker companies throughout the world. This designation is awarded to companies who attained closed adjusted gross commission income of $3.5 million to $6.49 million during the 2004 calendar year.

This association is for financial professionals around the world, recognizing its members for their accomplishments and ethical standards of conducting business.
