Appointments
Four members of the local community have recently joined the American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapters board of directors. Sean Bennett is president and chief executive officer of Asset Integration Consultants Inc. in Summerville. Dan Vroon is vice president of middle market banking for Bank of America. Laura Hewitt is chairwoman of the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina. Mason Holland is chairman of the board for Benefitfocus.com and the president of Holland Properties LLC.
Amy Jenkins of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough was elected president-elect of the Rotary Club of Charleston. Jenkins, who practices in the areas of business litigation and labor and employment, will become club president in July 2006. She will represent the Rotary Club of Charleston at the Rotary International Convention in Sweden next year.
South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects named Eric Aichele of LS3P Associates Ltd. as president of the organization. Sam Herin of Stubbs Muldrow Herin Architects has been named vice president/president-elect. The institute represents more than 750 architects across South Carolina.
Charleston ophthalmologist Paul Herring was elected to serve on the Porter-Gaud School board of trustees. Herring is a 1982 Porter-Gaud graduate and the father of three children who attend the school.
