Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties in Mount Pleasant added agents Vicki Jones and Louise Sylvester. Jones has 10 years of property management experience, including vacation rentals and general brokerage experience. Sylvester worked for Coldwell Banker in the Northeast.
Margie Mead Jackson joined RE/MAX Professional Realty in Mount Pleasant. She has spent 10 years specializing in residential sales, land and commercial investments in the tri-county area.
Joseph Poltor joined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as a Realtor, working in the North Charleston office. Poltor is serving in the U.S. Air Force while assisting clients.
Jo Richmond joined Chastain Construction Inc. as an administrative assistant, assigned to a team working on a downtown redevelopment project. She has four years of construction-related experience. Marisa McEntire, a civil engineer, joined the Chastain management team. McEntire has a background in military, commercial and health care projects. She previously worked as a project manager for the Medical University of South Carolina.
Harold McCaleb joined the Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International team. He previously worked with retail properties for five years.
Transportation
Roberta Bobbie Fraher joined the South Carolina State Ports Authority as risk manager, bringing about 20 years of risk management, insurance underwriting and marketing experience to the job. She previously was an account executive with Arthur J. Gallagher in Charlotte, N.C., and director of risk management for Beaufort County. In addition, Bob Benjamin has been promoted to claims manager. Previously he was assistant manager, risk and claims, and has been with the SPA for six years.
Commerce
The South Carolina World Trade Center made several changes to its staff. Anthony Russo is education and trade services manager. He was formerly a trade specialist. Reb-ecca Marriott was hired as office administrator. She previously worked for Miller Development LLC as marketing director. Julia M. Meisner is director of international programs/education specialist. Kelly Carpenter is director of public relations. Melanie Figueiredo joined the staff as a trade specialist. She has a degree in communication and culture from Clark University.
The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce named Quince E. Cody interim president/chief executive officer. He is the former president of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union.
Education
The College of Charleston announ-ced three new hires. Michael Duncan is director of the Student Leadership Center. He spent six years as programming director at the University of South Carolina. Cynthia M. Washington is assistant director of procurement and supply at the College of Charleston. She has been with the college for 14 years, spending 11 years as a procurement officer. Paul Verrecchia was named chief/director of public safety. He previously was with Brown University in Providence, R.I., where he was the chief of police and director of public safety for eight years.
Media & Marketing
Go To Team named Tom Wells as its Charleston cameraman. Wells was previously a Go To Team apprentice based in the Charlotte, N.C., office. He has national political campaign and network experience, having spent time working for John Kerrys presidential campaign and traveling to several states for NBC during the 2004 presidential coverage.
Ann Mitchell joined Media Services Inc., as managing editor of all print and Web magazines. Mitchell most recently was the editor of IndigoCoast Magazine. She previously served as editor of the Moultrie News and the James Island Journal and also worked as a reporter and editor for The Post and Courier for 15 years.
Cognetix added two new staff members. Tim Hogan is an art director, and Cheryl Van Landingham Smithem is a senior account executive. Hogan has an advertising and branding design background, having previously worked for Reed Advertising in Knoxville, Tenn., F&W Publications in Cincinnati and Gee Creative in Charleston. Smithem is the former director of public relations for Bishop Gadsden. She also owned Strategic Marketing and Public Relations.
Financial
Patrick F. Jones joined Streetman & Associates PC as a partner. Jones previously worked for Arthur Andersen in New York City. He will focus on business consulting, financial statement preparation and tax planning for individual and corporate clients. Courtney Feaster, a 2003 College of Charleston graduate, has been named director of business services.
Steven Murray joined NEF/Carolina Capital Management as a financial representative in the Daniel Island office. Murray has a degree in business administration from the College of Charleston and spent two years as an emergency medical technician.
Architecture
Jonathan Binger and Gregory Strickland joined SGA Architecture as intern architects. Binger has a bachelor of design from Clemson University with experience in commercial and institutional design. Strickland has a bachelor of architecture from Pennsylvania State Universitys College of Arts and Architecture. His experience includes educational, commercial and multifamily residential projects.
Legal
Robertson & Hollingsworth named Paul R. Rahn a partner in the law firm. Rahn will focus on construction and business litigation.
Health Care
Heather Picken joined the chiropractic office of Dr. Kate Mahoney. Picken is a fitness expert and nutritional consultant. She will provide private consultations, individual fat-loss programs and group fitness sessions.
Trident Health System named H. Heyward Wells III senior vice president of business development and productivity. He formerly was with Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., as assistant vice president/productivity officer.
Tourism
The Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau named Suzanne Wallace director of sales. Wallace worked in sales at the Sheraton River-view Hotel before joining the bureau in 1995 as director of visitor services.
