Appointments

Eugene W. Blanton, president of Landmark Enterprises, was appointed to the World Trade Center Association committee of trade fairs, trade marts and high tech parks. Blanton is the developer of the new South Carolina World Trade Center building in North Charleston. 

 

National Trust Historic Hotels of America, a collection of 213 historically significant hotels, named P. Steven Dopp and Rick Widman to its 2005 board of advisors. Dopp is with Portwood Properties Corp., and Widman is with Charming Inns of Charleston.

 

The Center for Women has announced its 2005 officers and board of directors: president Laura Bright, club marketing manager at The Kiawah Island Club; vice president of development Darcy Shankland, editor of Charleston Magazine; vice president of programming Molly B. Goodwin, consultant with Corporate DevelopMint; secretary Terri Schaff Sweat; and treasurer Frances J. Pearce. Other board members are Denise Barto with All Ocassions; Ronda Dean, president of Dalton-Demorest LLC and Dalton-Demorest Foundation; Charlene Harris, Virginia Hinnant, chief executive officer of BizTrek Marketing and Bacchus Marketing; Ann G. Kulze with Just Wellness LLC; Dorothy P. Moore, distinguished professor of entrepreneurship at The Citadel; Harriet Rigney, Priscilla McLeod Robinson, Susan Romaine, of Studio Romaine; Shari Schleis, chief executive officer of Splash Marketing; Jamin Marlow Slone with Art Direction and Design; Mindy Spar, fashion editor with The Post and Courier; Agnes Stewart, sales director with Mary Kay; and Liz Taylor, small business consultant.

 

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough attorney William Bobo Jr. was named to the board of visitors for the University of South Carolina. He is a 1979 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and practices commercial real estate and business law.

 

Kimberly Bokesch was elected president of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers’ Association. Bokesch is partner of the Wells Gallery and the Wells Gallery at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island. As president of the association, she will lead efforts to raise awareness of Charleston’s fine art world.

 

The Charleston Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals installed officers for 2005: Nadine Evans of PST, secretary; Ed Cavadias of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, president; Sherry Deese of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, region director; Bill Rhodes of First Federal, past president; Patti Burriss of Dorchester County, treasurer; and Christina Wakenell of Williams Technologies, director-at-large.
