Allstate agent Kevin Shealy received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his volunteer work. This award comes with a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the American National Red Cross Carolina Lowcountry Chapter, where Shealy volunteers.
The Beach Co. was named to the states 20th annual ranking of privately owned companies. It placed 37th on the list of 100 companies compiled by Grant Thornton LLP, in cooperation with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce. To qualify, companies must be privately held, headquartered in South Carolina, and cannot be a subsidiary or division of another company.
Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties Mount Pleasant office was ranked in the top 10 in the office-size category of 11-20 agents for the third quarter of 2004 in adjusted gross commission income for the Southern region of the Coldwell Banker franchise system.
Teresa A. Rhodes, assistant dean and director of the Springfield College Charleston campus, presided over the ceremony for the first graduating class of the School of Human Services. These are the first students in the state of South Carolina to receive advanced degrees in human services with concentrations in organizational management, leadership and counseling.

This designation is given to sales professionals who meet the criteria and complete the e-certified program training, which is designed to prepare sales professionals with technological and e-based business skills.
Dr. Warachal Faison was honored with the 2005 Barry Lebowitz Junior Investigator Award from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry for her research on African Americans participation in Alzheimers disease clinical trials. Faison is a fellow in geriatric psychiatry research at the Medical University of South Carolina. The award recognizes the best, unpublished original research by an emerging leader in the research field.
Montez C. Martin Jr. was awarded the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authoritys Lifetime Achievement Award.
