Four real estate agents from the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors were installed as directors and officers of the National and South Carolina Association of Realtors at the state real estate convention in Hilton Head. Ruthie Smythe, co-owner of Lane & Smythe Real Estate, was installed as a National Association of Realtors director for the 2006–2008 term to represent South Carolina. Robert Clement III, a commercial real estate agent with Clement, Crawford & Thornhill, was installed as the S.C. Association of Realtors’ president-elect. Jeff Bowers, real esate agent with ReMax Professional Realty, was installed as the vice president for Region 1 for the S.C. Association of Realtors. Ralph Wetherell, real estate agent with AgentOwned Premier Group, was installed as the parliamentarian for the S.C. Association of Realtors.

East Cooper Habitat for Humanity announced its new members to the board of directors: Michael Allen, pastor for Beyond the Church Walls ministry; Pam Bishop, director for the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors; Mills Buxton, vice president of McAlister Development; Robert Hervey, retired CFO for Polaroid; Dan Kingsbury, broker-in-charge and vice president of Daniel Island Real Estate; Karimah Moore, consultant for Changework Consulting; James Morrill, retired financial and operations senior vice president for Mellon Bank; and Cathy Remington, a real estate agent for Prudential Carolina.

Howell Morrison, a partner with Moore & Van Allen, was recently elected to membership in the Charleston chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. ABOTA is a national organization that advocates the American civil jury trial system with an emphasis on elevating the standards of integrity, honor and professionalism in the legal profession.
