ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING

Marcus Aguayo joined Charles Blanchard Construction Corp. as a project manager for the commercial construction division. He has seven years of experience in retail, institutional and commercial design/ build projects.

Cheri Tapager joined Davis & Floyd Inc. as corporate director of marketing. Previously, she worked for Indus International Inc. as a marketing associate.

Dolphin Architects and Builders named Kevin Whalley president. Former president and founder Wally Seinsheimer assumed the role of chairman. Whalley has been with Dolphin since 1990 and an officer since 1993, serving as the principal designer and manager for all architectural aspects of Dolphin projects.

General Engineering & Environmental LLC added several employees to its staff. Kara Browder is a project coordinator responsible for coordinating land planning and permitting issues with reviewing agencies. She has 12 years of experience in planning with the Medical University of South Carolina and Charleston and Dorchester counties. Kathy Goddard is a project administrator supporting the project managers. She has 36 years of experience in accounting and project administration with various engineering firms, most recently Michael Baker Corp. in Pittsburgh. Keys Emory joined the industrial hygiene group as a technician. She recently received a master’s degree in educational biology from The Citadel. Linda Caldwell is an environmental scientist specializing in geographic information systems and data management. She will manage data and field work for a large redevelopment project in Charleston.

Kelly Adams joined Glick/Boehm & Associates as an intern architect. Adams has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Clemson University. She will work on residential and office buildings, and civic projects.

LAW Real estate law firm Buist, Byars, Pearce & Taylor LLC hired Michelle Roberson as IT manager. Roberson has more than nine years of experience in the computer industry. Previously, she was network administrator for Big Red Inc. and Advantec Global Service.

HEALTH CARE

Kenneth Davenport II joined Jackson Davenport Vision Center and will manage the Summerville Plaza location. He is a South Carolina licensed optician.

Elaine Kloos joined Roper St. Francis Healthcare as service line director of oncology services. She is responsible for the operation, development and growth of the Roper St. Francis Cancer Center. Kloos most recently was director of the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center in Flemington, N.J.

EDUCATION

Trident Academy hired Carolyn Newton as admissions director. She previously was with the Charleston County School District.

REAL ESTATE

John Manzella joined Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties’ Mount Pleasant office as a sales associate. He had a 26-year career with IBM and worked for several technology firms. Todd Hagy also joined Coldwell Banker as a sales associate. He previously was with the Boathouse Restaurant on Isle of Palms.

Beachside Real Estate hired Evelyn Bull, the former tennis program director at Porter-Gaud School and former operations manager of E. T. Enterprises. Bull has also worked with an on-site real estate development company.

Dunes Properties of Charleston added Frank Moore and Mike Tidwell to the staff. Tidwell has more than 30 years of experience working in sales positions. Moore has more than 20 years of sales and management experience. He will focus on coastal, residential, resort and investment properties.

Pat Neuhaus and John Schulten joined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as Realtors working in the Mount Pleasant office. Neuhaus previously was president of Connemana Sales LLC. Schulten has more than 20 years of senior management experience in securities brokerage with a foreign bank. He previously was executive vice president and secretary of the board of directors for Yamaichi Holding Inc. in New York City. Karen Minnis also joined the staff as a Realtor working in the Summerville office. Minnis previously was a computer technology specialist at AstenJohnson Inc., a textile manufacturing company. Pamela Gaillard also will work as a Realtor in the Summerville office. Gaillard previously was an area leader for Gates Rubber Co. in Moncks Corner.

Tim Callanan and John Lee joined the Mount Pleasant office of AgentOwned Realty. Callanan previously worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in New York City, trading bonds for seven years. Lee has an associate’s degree from Johnson & Wales University and is working toward a degree in communications from the University of Maryland. Kathleen Emry and Andrea Crews joined the Mount Pleasant office as a real estate team. They previously worked for another East Cooper real estate company.

Prudential Carolina Real Estate added several new agents. Catherine van Zutphen and Beth LeClaire work in the Clements Ferry Road office. Jared Shapiro works in the Trolley Road office. Kelly Wildman, Marian Bennett, Nancy Beam, Pamela O’Neill and Tracy Shelley are based in the Ashley River Road office. Dawn Anderson works in the Coleman Boulevard office. Dianne McLawhorn and Beth Wigginton are based in the Folly Road office. Keturah Stokes and Dino Roman work in the Metro North office. Cindy Hughes is based in the Mount Pleasant North office. Jim Adams is based in the Main Street office.

James Doran Co., a real estate investment and development company, hired John Henry Jr. as development manager. Henry oversees the development and construction of the company’s upcoming projects in Richmond, Va. Previously, Henry was a founder and principal of Washco Retail Group LLC, a real estate investment and development company that focused on the development of retail shopping centers in the Mid-Atlantic region.

MILITARY

Capt. Cloyes “Red” Hoover, former executive officer of military personnel and deputy chief engineer at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, assumed command of that organization. He replaces Capt. John Pope, who is now a program manager at the Program Executive Office, C4I and Space, San Diego.

FINANCIAL/b>

Eric Byrd joined The South Carolina General Agency of MassMutual as a financial representative. Previously, Byrd worked in financial services for New York Life. Cheryl A. Merschen also joins MassMutual as a financial services professional. Previously, she worked with First Investor Corp. in Rhode Island and for The Providence Agency of MassMutual.

CULINARY

Stephen Duvall Catering & Events hired Charlie Giordano as its executive chef. Giordano will oversee the ordering, staffing and coordination for each catering function. He most recently was executive chef of Café St. Tropez at Seabrook Island.

Andrew A. Long from Rouge Restaurant & Bistro in West Stockbridge, Mass., joined the staff at Laura Alberts, Tasteful Options as executive chef. Nicole McLaughlin joined the staff as sous chef. Both have associate’s degrees in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University.

NEW BUSINESS

Johnson Service Group, a technical and engineering staffing company, opened an office in Charleston. Local staff members are Sean Rice, branch manager; Marie Ferrigno, regional manager; Michael Johnson, senior recruiter; and Erin Campbell, senior account manager.

Skye Suarez opened Skye’s the Limit for Entertainment. She previously was with ITC DeltaCom.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Gail Cordner joined the sales and design team of California Closets. Cordner has nine years of experience as head designer for one of California Closets’ largest franchises.

TECHNOLOGY

Kawana Morris joined Concurrent Technologies Corp. as an assistant network administrator. Morris supports systems operation in the Charleston office as well as several other offsite facilities. Pat Daugherty joined the company as a transportation security analyst. Daugherty retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years, most recently serving with the Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.
