Appointments
Chuck Cain has been named second vice chairman and One-Stop committee chair to the Trident Workforce Investment Board executive committee. Cain, a Dupont retiree, has been involved with the board for 20 years. Jim Friar, Dorchester County Economic Development executive director, was named marketing committee chair. He has served on the board three years. David T. Ginn, president and chief executive officer of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, was named economic development committee chair. Coleman O. Glaze, owner of Glaze Financial Services, was named chairman of the board. Terry Kinder, a certified public accountant, was named director and vice chair, and youth advisory council chairman to the boards executive committee. Robert G. Smith, president and chief executive officer of Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina Inc., was named governance committee chair to the boards executive committee.
Kristen Reeves, director of marketing for The Beach Co., was named to the board of directors of the Charleston Stage Co. Reeves will sit on the annual wine auction committee as well as the committee for the new young professionals program, Meet Me @ Dock Street.
Architect Stephen A. Russell was appointed by Gov. Mark Sanford to the state Board of Architectural Examiners. Russells term runs through May 15, 2008.
Steve Potts, president of Scout Boats Inc., has joined the Wachovia advisory board of directors in Charleston.
Jan Cappellini is the 2006 president for the South Carolina Association of Personnel and Staffing. She is the owner and vice president of Alternative Staffing Inc.
