Craig Stephans joined the Jerry Bacon Allstate Insurance Agency as a sales professional. Stephans most recently worked in professional relations for the Medical University of South Carolinas Institute of Psychiatry.
Carolina Capital Management hired Casey Bennett, Jennings Snider and Gary Mims as financial representatives. For the past six years, Bennett has been the manager of several small businesses, as well as a residential and commercial property manager. Snider has been in the insurance industry for 40 years. Mims has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry. John Rocky Ryan was promoted to managing associate intern. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University.
NONPROFIT
The Humanities Foundation Inc. hired Adela Gotz as administrative assistant to the ShelterNet Program. Gotz was previously employed by Happy Days and Special Times as an assistant to the childrens events coordinator.
Sandy Scott joined the Salvation Army as development and public relations director. She was most recently employed as the executive director of the Sewee to Santee Community Development Corp. Susan Hill joined the staff as bookkeeper. She previously worked for Walton C. Byrd & Associates in Atlanta.
EVENT PLANNING
Emmy Loyd started her own event planning services company, Peacock Events. She has been planning events for three years.
REAL ESTATE
Fran Snelwar joined Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. as a real estate agent working in the Johns Island office. Snelwar was a real estate agent in Connecticut for more than 20 years before joining Century 21.
Robert M. Bauer joined the Kiawah/Seabrook office of Dunes Properties of Charleston Inc. Bauer has more than 22 years of experience in Charleston real estate. Bauer will specialize in new development and investment real estate opportunities. Joining the property management division of Dunes Properties of Charleston are Wendy Braddy and Wesley Walker, who will work with guests to schedule vacations on the Charleston coast. Braddy has worked in hospitality and customer service positions with area hotels. Walkers interest is in the resort and real estate markets.
James Doran Co., a real estate investment and development company on Daniel Island, added two staff members. Mary Kay Stafford is the director of leasing and marketing, and Matt Grayson is project manager. Stafford has commercial leasing experience, including positions as director of real estate for Silk Greenhouse, Pic N Pay stores, the Cato Corp. and Checkers Drive-In restaurants. Grayson was previously project manager for Kiawah Island Golf Resort/The Sanctuary Hotel, Shoreline International Real Estate and the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games.
Bill Neff joined Anderson, Blankin, Wells and Associates. Neff is retired from the U.S. Navy and previously worked for a global communications engineering firm as a project manager and principle engineer.
Beach Commercial, the commercial brokerage division of The Beach Co., hired Elizabeth Van Wagenen as a commercial real estate agent specializing in retail brokerage. She will focus on the leasing of the companys retail center, The Shoppes at Seaside Farms. Previously, she was with EastRock Commercial.
Prudential Carolina Real Estate hired several new agents: Henry Herring will work in the Broad Street office in downtown Charleston. Brandon Moss and Del Chester will work in the Wappoo Creek office on James Island. Ryann Bretone, Tapley Garrison, Sandra Russell and Colyn Williams are in the Folly Road office on James Island. Rusty Hughes will work in the Ashley River Road office in West Ashley. Kenneth Gerald is in the Orleans Road office in West Ashley. Raymond L. Coil will work in the Main Street office in Summerville. Kenneth Westdyk is in the Mount Pleasant North office. Griffin L. Allison will work in the Clements Ferry Road office on Daniel Island.
Rae A. Perry joined Weichert, Realtors Dean-Kelby. Perry will specialize in residential sales and rentals with emphasis on first-time homebuyers, empty nesters and relocating individuals and families. She has experience managing a residential appraisal company and as an executive assistant. Susan Rhyne also joins the sales team, specializing in residential sales to first-time homebuyers and empty nesters in Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties.

Ryan Butler was named the vice president of construction for John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods Charleston division. Butler will be responsible for the construction and production of multiple Wieland neighborhoods throughout the Mount Pleasant and Summerville areas. He joined Wieland in 1998 as a finish manager after graduating from Bowling Green State University.
FINANCIAL
Dr. Gordon Jones expanded his health care consulting practice to include financial services. He joined the Charleston Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He has 14 years of consulting experience in the health care business arena.
LAW
Real estate law firm Buist, Byars, Pearce & Taylor promoted Jana Jones to the new position of paralegal manager and Lisa Clapp to senior closer. Jones has more than 15 years of experience as a real estate paralegal and has been with the firm since 1996. Clapp has been with the firm for two years, working as a legal assistant and closer for attorney Dixon Pearce.

Benefitfocus.com added several new employees to its staff. Cindy Ecleberry is carrier project manager for the Midwest client services division. She was formerly employed as a senior application consultant with Lawson Software in St. Paul, Minn. Scott Edward Gildersleeve is a junior software engineer in the EDI Engineering Department. He is a recent graduate of West Virginia University. Adrian Mitchell Grimes is senior business analyst in the eEnrollment client services division. Grimes was formerly employed as a benefits consultant with Mackey & Associates Inc. of Charleston. Jacqueline Weisgarber is a business analyst in the client services division. She was formerly employed by Dragon Palace as a server and by the Girl Scouts of the South Carolina Lowcountry as community-based facilitator. Anah McRae is a business analyst in the client services division. She was formerly employed by Blackbaud. Horst Obereder is a data analyst in the carrier services division. He was formerly employed by American Port Services in Charleston. Doug James is a software engineer in the information retrieval and engineering divisions. He was formerly employed by the Medical University of South Carolina at the Hollings Cancer Center. Laura Wilson is an implementation consultant for the client services division. She was formerly employed by Trident United Way as campaign division director.
MEDIA & MARKETING
Chrissie Batten was hired as sales director for HomeReview, a real estate guide for resort and lifestyle properties of Charleston. She manages advertising sales for the Charleston HomeReview Web site and publication.
The Go To Team hired Megan Hepinstall to coordinate video production crews. She previously worked as an editor for Time Warner Metro Sports. Robin Morton was promoted to senior production coordinator. Morton has been with the company for four years.
TRANSPORTATION
The Allen Lund Co. opened an office in North Charleston to help facilitate the movement of an estimated 30,000 dry and flatbed loads from the South Atlantic region. Don Roberts will manage the office with assistant manager James Lipp.Together they have 15 years of experience in the transportation industry.
NEW BUSINESS
Stylists Carol Hammond and James Quinton, both formerly at Elysium and Stella Nova, opened their own shop, Salon Couture, on King Street. Hammond has trained internationally with Bumble & Bumble, Aveda, Redken, Scruples, LOreal and Wella. Quinton has trained with Bumble & Bumble, Tony & Guy, Aveda, Redken and Scruples. He has also worked with Nick Arrojo of The Learning Channels show What Not to Wear.
