The RE/MAX International Convention awarded Realtor Jeff Bowers the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award. Bowers has been a broker associate with RE/MAX Professional Realty since 1990. The award is presented to associates who have been affiliated with the organization for at least seven years and have helped 1,000 or more families in buying or selling real estate.

Rosen, Rosen & Hagood LLC joined the International Society of Primerus Law Firms. The firm, one of 76 members, specializes in complex litigation and damage claims in the areas of business and commercial litigation, construction, product liability, medical malpractice, negligence, wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, personal injury, family law and employment.

Dr. Courtney Shelbourne was named a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. At his practice, Palmetto Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Shelbourne specializes in correcting problems with the mouth, jaws, facial structures and neck for both children and adults, including the removal of complex tumors, dental implants and cosmetic surgery.

Ron Henderson, Drew Sineath, Kimberly Lease and Peggy Anderson received the Centurion Award at the Century 21 Carolinas Region Sales Rally banquet in Charlotte, N.C. The award recognizes Century 21 sales associates who have reached a minimum of $185,000 in gross closed commissions or closed on 60-199 units.

Scott Shanklin-Peterson of Charleston was a recipient of the 2005 Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Awards, the official Governor’s Awards for the Arts. Awards were presented May 4 at a ceremony at the Statehouse. Shanklin-Peterson is director of the College of Charleston School of the Arts’ arts management program. She is a former executive director for the South Carolina Arts Commission and senior deputy chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.

American Express named Abbott & Hill Travel as a 2004 Representative Excellence Winner. Twenty-five travel agencies nationwide were selected for this honor, which was designed to reward American Express Travel Network members who are consistently high contributors to preferred supplier sales goals and who demonstrate significant growth. Abbott & Hill Travel, the only South Carolina agency honored, earned the award for a third year.

The law firm of McAngus, Goudelock & Courie LLC marked its 10th anniversary in March. The firm, created in 1995 as a workers’ compensation boutique practice, has grown to a full-service firm. The firm has more than 160 employees and is headquartered in Columbia, with offices in Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte.

G&P Trucking received the 2004 Gold Carrier Award by Lowe’s for consistently providing the highest level of delivery service to Lowe’s customers and for exceeding the 99.5% on-time service criteria.

Coldwell Banker Coastal Properties agent Brian Seitz completed a new home sales course to earn his national designation as a Certified New Home Specialist.

Dunhill Staffing Systems, headquartered in Indianapolis, announced Connie Horoho, a recruiting consultant in the Charleston franchise, as the National Rookie of the Year for 2004. Horoho is responsible for placing technical professionals with manufacturing and engineering consulting companies across the country.

Midwest Maintenance Inc. received first place in the “Historical Restoration under $2 million” category from the Associated Builders and Contractors for its historical restoration construction of the Central Fire Station in Charleston.

The College of Charleston’s Students in Free Enterprise team received a $900 grant from the HSBC Education Trust and the Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets division of HSBC to help encourage financial literacy with an emphasis on young people and women entrepreneurs. The team will work with the Center for Women, encouraging College of Charleston students to sign up and enroll in a Web-based financial literacy program developed with the University of Texas at Dallas.
