J. Yates Dew, Joshua Silverman, Hugh Banks Tant III, Lindsay N. Nevin and Lashanda Middleton were elected to Charleston Affordable Housing Inc.s board of trustees.
The 2004 Carolinas Entrepreneur of the Year judges have been chosen and will include Ernest Andrade, director of the Office of Industrial Development for the city of Charleston; Mike Baur, president and CEO of ScanSource; Bill Boyd, CEO of Muzak; Allen McIntyre, CEO of ChemPro; Dr. John Palms, former president of the University of South Carolina; and Bill Timmerman, CEO of SCANA Corp.
Bryan P. Williams and Jill A. Bishop of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage have earned professional honors. Williams has earned registration as a professional geologist and Bishop has earned registration as a certified hazardous materials manager.
Nelda D. Fields, a health care consultant for WebsterRogers LLP, has been inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration, Charleston Southern University chapter.
Larry Ferguson, DMD, has been appointed to the board of visitors for the Medical University of South Carolina. Members are nominated by trustees of the university and serve as informed representatives in their respective regions.
Billie F. Attaway Jr. and L. Lee Moulder are new members on the Charleston Southern University board of visitors. Attaway is president and chief executive officer of Advanced Data Services Inc. in Mount Pleasant and Moulder is the deputy director of administration with Berkeley County Water & Sanitation Authority. Both will serve on the board until Dec. 31, 2007.
Stephen L. Gritzuk has recently joined Charleston Southern Universitys board of visitors. Gritzuk is a district manager with Southern Building Services in Charleston. He will serve on the board until Dec. 31, 2006.
James C. Bryan of SCANA Corp. has been named chairman of the 2004 Clara Barton Society campaign for the American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter. Bryan will lead the Clara Barton Society Committee in raising $150,000 for the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter budget by June 30.
Emily M. Osetek has been awarded the Certified Healthcare Billing Management Executive credentials through the Healthcare Billing Management Association. Certification requires 60 CEU hours of health care industry courses.

The Roper St. Francis Healthcare operating room received the 2003 Performance Improvement Award. Each year Roper St. Francis Healthcare presents the award to a department within the hospital that has made significant improvements.
