In July, Charleston got its first taste of low airfares courtesy of Dulles-based Independence Air. In August, my wife and I personally sampled the airline’s service on a vacation to Maine. Independence Air met the test, providing us with convenient, affordable on-time flights and friendly, hassle-free service. The airline’s amazing rollout now offers travel from Charleston to over 35 destinations, with direct flights from Charleston to Orlando and Tampa scheduled to begin next month.
I’m writing to remind you that every member of our region’s business community has a role to play in supporting low fare air service. AND THAT MEANS YOU!
FOLLOW THESE THREE EASY STEPS...
STEP 1: Go to www.flyi.com and join Independence Air’s “iCLUB.” It’s free and gives you access to special offers and important updates on the airline’s service and routes.
STEP 2: Spread the word. Encourage your friends, family, customers, vendors, employees and business colleagues to join the iCLUB and support low airfares by flying Independence Air. Remind them that while other carriers will match the airline’s fares, Independence Air is the only airline flying into Charleston that’s made a long-term commitment to keep their fares reasonable and affordable for Charleston travelers.
STEP 3: Change your outbound e-mail format to include a signature like mine below, with a tagline reminding others to support Independence Air. (If you don’t know how, ask your favorite “techie” at your workplace for help.)
Independence Air tells me they are thrilled with our region’s response to their launch here in our market. Let’s show them we can step it up even more. We’ve declared our independence from high airfares—it’s YOUR job to make sure we keep it!
