Innovative Machining Technology Inc. plans to create 45 jobs and invest $7.8 million in a new manufacturing facility in Dorchester County, according to a news release from the S.C. Commerce Department.

The Boyertown, Pa.-based original equipment manufacturer will locate in a 37,000-square-foot facility at 245 Deming Way in Summerville. It will make components for power generation equipment, including gas turbines, as well as nuclear and hydrogen generators.

The new facility is expected to be operational in early 2015, with plans to begin hiring new associates in late 2014. ReadySC will be assisting with initial recruiting and training.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project. This will be the company’s third facility.

“We strive to push our company into the future by constant improvement to our facilities and to our work process,” IMT President and Owner Joseph Lomanto said in a statement. “We feel that Dorchester County is a perfect fit and are excited to utilize the resources that South Carolina has to offer.”
