South Carolina’s first Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showroom is expected to open in July on Savannah Highway in Charleston.

Baker Motor Co., owned by Tommy B. Baker, was appointed a Rolls-Royce dealer and will receive its first shipment in the coming weeks, according to a news release.

Baker’s first shipments will include the Phantom Drophead Coupe, displayed at the New York Auto Show, along with several models of the Wraith. Also, Baker will be receiving the only Pinnacle Travel Collection Phantom Extended Wheelbase coming to the U.S. in August after it’s shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

“Rolls-Royce is the benchmark of super-luxury,” Baker said in a statement. “It is a natural fit for this brand to have an appointment here in Charleston, and we are honored that Baker Motor Co. will add this legendary brand to our world-class lineup.”

Baker Motor also is providing hotel accommodations, dinner, a guided tour of Charleston, event tickets and use of a personal concierge to book special travel arrangements or regional excursions for anyone who buys a Rolls-Royce, the news release said.

The new showroom will help the brand’s growth in the Southeast, said Eric C. Shepherd, president of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America.

“We are pleased to welcome Tommy Baker and his entire team to the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars family,” Shepherd said in a statement. “Their expertise with luxury brands and commitment to providing an unparalleled ownership experience to their customers help them to stand out among their competitors.”

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Charleston will become the 39th Rolls-Royce showroom in the North American dealer network. Showrooms are also located in Atlanta, Raleigh and Franklin, Tenn., as well as six cities in Florida.

The Charleston showroom will open at the Baker Motor Co. campus in West Ashley, located at 115 Savannah Highway. But plans for the exact location are still underway, according to a company spokeswoman.
