IQor to hire 320, invest $400,000 in Dorchester County call center

IQor US Inc. plans to expand its Dorchester County call center with 320 new jobs and an investment of around $391,000.

The company, which provides business process outsourcing and product support services, will employ more than 700 people locally by the end of the year. The company runs out of a 42,000-square-foot facility at 8440 Dorchester Road in North Charleston.

The company wanted to expand its presence in North Charleston after several years of growth, said Mason Argiropoulos, iQor’s chief human resources officer.

“We have every confidence that the highly skilled Lowcountry-area labor market can provide the talented individuals required to handle the complex transactions inherent to the servicing of our top-of-industry clients,” Argiropoulos said in a statement.

The company partners with global brands to deliver after-market product and customer support solutions, including customer care, product diagnostics and repair services. IQor currently employs more than 32,000 people in 17 countries.

“The expansion of iQor gives us confidence that North Charleston and Dorchester County continue to be great places to do business,” North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said in a statement.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $50,000 set-aside grant for real property improvements related to the project.
