The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s professional development program works to identify and develop future community leaders that serve in nonprofits, government positions and a variety of industry sectors.
Leadership Charleston focuses on the primary regional issues that affect businesses, such as infrastructure, workforce development, crime, education and legislation.
The 10-month program begins in September with a two-day orientation. Participants meet monthly to network and to hear business leaders speak about developing leadership skills.
“Leadership Charleston had a profound impact on my professional life. ... The program provided me with a terrific look at the many facets of our unique community. It also allowed me to build relationships with peers as well as the top decision-makers in our region,” Jones said.
Leadership Charleston is open to all Chamber members. Since its start in 1974, the program has produced more than 2,000 graduates.
