Molina Healthcare names president

Thomas Lindquist has been named president of Molina Healthcare of South Carolina, according to a news release.

He is responsible for the operational oversight of the S.C. health plan for Molina Healthcare Inc., which has an office in North Charleston with approximately 125 employees.



Lindquist, who was most recently president of Texas Home Health, brings more than 15 years of experience in the health care industry to his new role, according to Zarina Shockley-Sparling, senior vice president of health plan operations for Molina Healthcare.

“His experience will help guide our strategic expansion through the state as we strengthen relationships with providers and work together to deliver quality health care to our members,” Shockley-Sparling said in a statement.

Lindquist earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in management from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in business administration in finance from the University of Houston.

Molina Healthcare provides Medicaid-related solutions to low-income families and individuals. It started serving Medicaid members in South Carolina on Jan. 1.

The company also works with roughly 2.1 million members in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
