A Cessna 421 light twin engine aircraft got a flat tire when landing at the Charleston International Airport this afternoon, causing the right landing gear to collapse.
Only the pilot was on board and no injuries have been reported, said Charlene Gunnells, corporate communications manager for the Charleston County Aviation Authority.
The plane was attempting to land on Runway 3-21, a shorter runway at the airport owned by Joint Base Charleston.
Joint Base Charleston crews are working on removal of the plane. No airline operations have been affected.
