In less than two months, Summerville Medical Center has found a new CEO.

Lisa Valentine — who most recently served as the COO and interim CEO at Richmond, Va.-based Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, an affiliate of Hospital Corp. of America — will be Summerville Medical Center’s CEO effective May 1, according to a news release.

Valentine oversaw the multicampus enterprise of three hospitals, two ambulatory surgery centers and a freestanding emergency department, the release said. She also led the development of a new 95,000-square-foot medical office building, recruited and integrated more than 50 primary care and specialist physicians and helped obtain a Virginia certificate of need for a $78 million hospital expansion.

Valentine, who has a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, will replace Louis Caputo.

Trident Health announced in January that Caputo accepted the CEO position at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Nashville. Trident Health, also an affiliate of Nashville-based Hospital Corp. of America, operates Trident Medical Center, Summerville Medical Center and Moncks Corner Medical Center.
