Patriots Point teams up with Sticky Fingers

Visitors to the USS Yorktown will soon have the option of indulging in some Sticky Fingers barbecue.

Top Shelf Catering Co., a subsidiary and partner of Sticky Fingers Smokehouse, will be Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum’s new food service provider, according to a news release.

The catering company, established this year as an extension of the Sticky Fingers brand, was awarded a five-year contract with Patriots Point and will provide food for all programs and events that take place at the Mount Pleasant attraction.

Sticky Fingers Smokehouse Express snack bars will be located at the landside ticket window and in the hangar bay of the Yorktown, the release said.

“Sticky Fingers is without a doubt a favorite throughout the Southeast. We know our daily visitors, campers and guests of all events will enjoy the award-winning cuisine of Sticky Fingers and Top Shelf Catering,” Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette said in a statement. “It is just another reason to come spend the day and enjoy the complete Patriots Point experience.”

It’s estimated the partnership will generate $2.5 million, with Patriots Point earning 20% of the revenue received on-site, not including venue rentals, the release said.

Robert Patterson, operating partner at Sticky Fingers Smokehouse, said the Mount Pleasant company is thrilled to be an integral part of the attraction.

“The opportunity to showcase our legendary smoked meats and customer service to the hundreds of thousands of visitors the USS Yorktown attracts is invaluable,” Patterson said in a statement. “We look forward to providing an affordable five-star catering service through Top Shelf that includes delicious food and professional service.”
