On the Menu provides the latest news from the Charleston area’s extensive culinary community, including new restaurants, new menu items and upcoming events, as well as details about local chefs. Submissions should be sent to dailyjournal@scbiznews.com.

Mixson Market and Basico will host chef Anne Quatrano for a special lunch and book signing to promote her debut cookbook, Summerland. The event is noon to 2 p.m., March 5 on the patio at Basico, 4399 McCarthy St. in North Charleston. Quatrano will prepare highlights from Summerland, which showcases the inspiration behind Quatrano’s culinary programs and creative processes.

After lunch, Quatrano will sign copies of the book, and guests will also be able to access the facilities at Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Quatrano’s chosen charity, Wholesome Wave South, which aims to help communities access affordable fresh food.

With her husband, Clifford, Quatrano operates four Atlanta restaurants — Bacchanalia, Quinones at Bacchanalia, Floataway Cafe and Abattoir — as well as cook’s market Star Provisions.
