Almatal Enterprises LLC sold the space for $1.8 million to Buyer Corridor LLC. Handsome Properties is leasing the space from Buyer Corridor.
Handsome Properties plans to move into the building in eight months. It will maintain its space at 53 Broad St. as well.
“We are bursting at the seams in our space on Broad Street,” Principal and Broker-in-Charge Debbie Fisher said. “One of the main reasons I wanted to move into this area is the city is moving north, and I want to be accessible to all of the peninsula, not just South of Broad. Charleston is on the cusp of something big here. You can taste it.”
The building on Meeting Street, which sits on 0.32 acres, was a car dealership in the 1950s. Fisher said the space will be gutted and renovated into a loft style office space with exposed brick and open working areas.
Fisher founded Handsome Properties in August 2008. It has since grown to 15 agents, and she plans to hire more for the new space.
“It was a blessing in disguise to start at that time, because as everyone pulled back, I forged ahead with creative lifestyle marketing and I was able to kick-start my company in a crazy, crazy market,” Fisher said.
Handsome Properties provides commercial and residential real estate services with a focus on the high-end, luxury real estate in the Charleston area. The firm works with four international companies to connect with international buyers.
Lee & Associates of Charleston represented the seller. Handsome Properties represented the buyer.
