A new Extra Space Storage facility is opening in April in the West Ashley area.

Construction began in October on the 138,000-square-foot building that will include 1,100 storage units, according to Scott Quattlebaum, company owner and general contractor.

The new facility, located at 810 St. Andrews Blvd., will be Quattlebaum Development Co.’s second storage building in Charleston. It owns another on Heriot Street, and they are both managed by Extra Space Storage.

Eight employees will be hired for the four-story, climate-controlled facility that will include three elevators, Quattlebaum said.
