After nearly four and a half years on the job, the CEO of Summerville Medical Center is leaving his post for a hospital owned by the same company in Tennessee.
Louis Caputo has accepted the position of CEO at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., according to a news release. He’ll begin there on March 3.

Caputo, a board certified fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, served as the chief operating officer of South Bay Hospital prior to moving to Summerville. He also spent two and half years as the associate administrator at Osceola Regional Medical Center. He earned an MBA from Belmont University.
Trident Health will launch a national search for Caputo’s replacement. Owned by Nashville-based Hospital Corp. of America, Trident Health operates Trident Medical Center, Summerville Medical Center and Moncks Corner Medical Center. TriStar StoneCrest also is an HCA hospital.
Trident Health spokesman Bob Behanian said Caputo’s final day at Summerville Medical Center has not yet been decided.
