Charleston Restaurant Week begins Wednesday, runs through Jan. 19

More than 140 Lowcountry dining establishments will participate in the ninth installment of Charleston Restaurant Week.

The Greater Charleston Restaurant Association Inc. event, held each year in January and September, will take place Jan. 8-19, according to a news release. Participating restaurants will offer menus of three items for $20, $30 or $40.

Eighteen new restaurants have been added to the list, agreeing to offer special Charleston Restaurant Week deals. They include Another Broken Egg Cafe, Butcher & Bee, Chez Fish, Coda Del Pesce, Indaco, LongHorn Steakhouse in North Charleston and Mount Pleasant, McCrady’s Restaurant, Mellow Mushroom in Avondale and Summerville, Southerly Restaurant and Patio, Sweeny’s, The Lot, Tsunami in Mount Pleasant, Water Dog Grill and Wild Wing Cafe in downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant and North Charleston.

For the second consecutive year, lunch options and hotel deals will be included in the week.

Restaurants offering lunch options include 82 Queen, Boone’s Bar, Butcher & Bee, Crave Kitchen + Cocktails, Lowcountry Bistro, Ms. Rose’s, Old Towne Grill & Seafood, Rio de Brazil, Rutledge Cab Co., Sweeney’s, The Alley and Zeus Grill and Seafood. Wentworth Mansion and Fulton Lane Inn will also offer hotel room discounts Jan. 8-14.

Charleston Restaurant Week is being held during Restaurant Week South Carolina, an event held to “position South Carolina as one of the top culinary destinations in the nation by increasing awareness of the many dining opportunities available in the state, as well as stimulating business and revenue for restaurants throughout South Carolina,” according to its website.
