Employer: Roper St. Francis Healthcare
Harry and Ann Douty began volunteering in their own ways for Roper St. Francis Healthcare after they both retired from the Charleston County School District. Ann knits caps for women with breast cancer and serves as a wayfinder at Roper Hospital. She also connects patients and their families with information about health care power of attorney and living wills, for those who need it.
Harry travels across the Lowcountry to install Lifeline monitors through the Roper St. Francis Advantage/Senior Services Department. The monitors allow seniors and the disabled to live safely at home and give them the ability to instantly call for help if there’s an accident.
