Charleston restaurant 82 Queen is debuting its winter menu with seasonally inspired dishes featuring ingredients such as truffles, pumpkin seeds and butternut squash. Focusing on his farm-to-table philosophy, chef Steven Lusby designed the menu around local seafood and produce as well as farm-raised proteins. His discussions with area farmers and purveyors about the status and quality of each of the seasonal ingredients dictate what will be featured on the menu.
Some of the new menu items include duck confit sandwich with blackberry jam; autumn salad with spiced, roasted butternut squash and pumpkin seeds; truffled cauliflower steak; sweet tea-grilled pork chop; cornbread waffle; green tomato Benedict; and Lowcountry crab Benedict. Lunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and dinner is served daily at 5:30 p.m. Weekend brunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday.
