Employer: Medical University of South Carolina
For two hours each week, you’ll find Dr. William Randazzo volunteering in school-based clinics in Charleston County schools.
Randazzo works as a pediatrician for the Medical University of South Carolina. He has extended his practice into several elementary schools so children who don’t have access to a pediatrician can see a doctor while in school.
In his five years of volunteering, Randazzo became involved with Charleston Promise Neighborhood’s KidsWell Health and Wellness Initiative, which established clinics in Chicora School of Communications, James Simons Elementary, Mary Ford Elementary and Sanders-Clyde Creative Arts School.
During the 2012-2013 school year, Randazzo saw nearly 300 students and recorded more than 500 office visits. After leaving the schools, his workday starts at an emergency care clinic in Mount Pleasant.
