A new app that targets women who want business recommendations has launched in the Charleston area, according to a news release.
The SoGood mobile app allows users to pick the best creative service providers in the area based on recommendations from SoGood tastemakers and their Facebook friends, the company said.
The tastemakers, hand-picked by co-founders Laura Martin and Hillary Crittendon, are business experts from each of the cities the app covers, which include Charlotte and Charleston. Raleigh; Atlanta; Nashville, Tenn.; and Richmond and Charlottesville, Va., will soon have apps.
Charleston’s tastemakers include event designers Tara Guerard and Lynn Easton; hostess and farmer Tara Der Webb; interior designer Angie Hranowsky; magazine editor, designer and brand consultant Haskell Harris; and Brooks Reitz of Jack Rudy Cocktail Co.
“Using a high-touch, curated approach to our mobile platform, we partner with the best businesses in each city — cultivating a network of artists and entrepreneurs who make life ‘so good,’ ” Crittendon said in a statement.
The free app also has a messaging system that allows users to chat with businesses in real time.
