Owner Perig Goulet closed La Fourchette’s doors at 432 King St. this month and sold the restaurant to Hall Hospitality Group. Goulet approached Hall Hospitality Group President Bill Hall Sr. about purchasing the space about a year ago.
“I always welcome change, and after eight years it’s time for me to relax a bit and take a vacation,” Goulet said in a news release. “This is a nice opportunity for me to explore my ideas about Charleston dining, especially for the locals who have been so kind to me. I will be back. Bonsoir y’all.”
The 12,000-square-foot space will serve as an extension of Halls Chophouse, called Halls II. It has a bar, a kitchen and room for 42 seats.
The expansion will maintain a separate entrance from Halls Chophouse but will undergo renovations in the fourth quarter to reflect similar designs. Hall expects Halls II to open Jan. 1.
“It was an ideal fit for us since it’s right next door. It worked out really well for both of us,” Hall said. “We have been very good neighbors to one another over the years.”
