Al Di La in West Ashley has created a vegetarian tasting menu available through Oct. 31. The menu, called “Verdure,” offers guests three courses for $24 or four courses for $30. Items also can be ordered a la carte. The Verdure menu includes vegan arugula salad with golden beets, white acre peas, tomatoes, radishes and vinaigrette; pumpkin chestnut ravioli with brown butter and sage; ricotta gnocchi with broccolini, red chili and sundried tomatoes; and wood-fired eggplant with spicy tomato sauce and faro “risotto style.” Al Di La serves lunch Tuesday through Friday, and dinner, Tuesday through Saturday.
Manny’s will celebrate its 20th anniversary during October with specials at each of its four locations. Specials will include an anniversary party at the original Manny’s.
The first Manny’s restaurant opened in 1993 at 1680 Old Towne Road in West Ashley. Other locations include downtown Charleston, North Charleston and Statesboro, Ga. A fifth restaurant will open this year in Charlotte.
Manny’s is named for owner Michael Stavrinakis’ father, who for years owned and operated the Coffee Cup on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, now the site of Jestine’s Kitchen.
The 20th anniversary party will be 4-7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Manny’s Neighborhood Grille, 1680 Old Towne Road in Charleston. Space is limited; RSVP to email@example.com by Oct. 28.
