East Cooper Medical Center recently broke ground on a new medical office building in Mount Pleasant.
Construction of the 42,000-square-foot building is set to be completed in late spring. It will include physician practices with a focus on women’s services, orthopedic services, outpatient physical therapy and laboratory services.
“As we continue to broaden the scope of services offered at East Cooper Medical Center and become a more regional provider of health care, we are furthering the expansion of our campus with this medical office building,” CEO Jason Alexander said in a news release.
The building, at 851 Leonard Fulghum Blvd., is adjacent to East Cooper Medical Center.
East Cooper Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare Corp., is a 130-bed acute care hospital at 2000 Hospital Drive in Mount Pleasant. East Cooper opened its first facility in 1986 and built a new hospital in 2010.
