Christopher Miller, executive director of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, will be leaving the Lowcountry for a new appointment as program executive officer for Department of Defense Healthcare Management Systems.
According to a news release from SPAWAR, Miller’s focus in the new role will be on the agency’s electronic health records program.
He began work in the new position Monday. Dave Monahan, director of management operations, will fill in as acting executive director at SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic until a permanent replacement is chosen.
“Chris has been instrumental in the transformation of SSC Atlantic to meet the Navy’s demands for greater efficiencies and effectiveness. His selection as PEO DHMS is a direct reflection of the impact he’s had at SPAWAR and across the Navy,” Rear Adm. Patrick Brady, Commander of SPAWAR Systems Command, said in the news release. “His vast experience and insight will be a tremendous gain for DoD.”
Miller has extensive experience in information technology, having served as deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for command, control, communication, computers and intelligence and as the Navy’s program executive officer in that department.
