The Anchorage Inn is now the third Charleston hotel under Avocet Hospitality Group’s ownership. The group also owns and manages the Vendue Inn downtown, a 66-room boutique hotel that was acquired late last year, and the 132-room Tides Folly Beach on Folly Beach.

“The Anchorage Inn is a beautiful and well-maintained property,” Avocet Hospitality Group President Jonathan Weitz said in a news release. “We’re happy to welcome it to our growing family of brands.”

Originally built as a cotton warehouse in the mid-1840s, The Anchorage Inn’s building served a number of commercial roles before opening as a bed-and-breakfast in 1991.

In addition to its hotel portfolio, Avocet Hospitality Group also owns and operates St. Barth Exclusives, a vacation rental company with more than 190 properties on the island of St. Barthelemy, French West Indies.

The hospitality management company also manages more than 175 vacation homes on Folly Beach through Avocet Properties.
