The magazine ranked Sparc the highest in both the software category and in the state, according to The 2013 Inc. 5000 List of fastest-growing private companies. The list was updated Wednesday to move Sparc up from No. 15.
The Charleston-based software product developer has seen three-year growth of roughly 12,800%, with 2012 revenue at $21.1 million, up from around $163,000 in 2009.
Sparc develops software and mobile applications for the government and commercial sectors, specializing in health and benefits systems, intelligence security, employee recognition, green energy management, big data analytics and mobile application development. It has offices in Charleston and Washington, D.C.
“To have Sparc earn the 15th position on the Inc. 500 is a major accomplishment for our team, and reinforces our model of people-focused innovation,” Sparc CEO Eric Bowman said in a news release of the top 500 companies in the Inc. 5000. “To be recognized in the top tier of the Inc. 500 in our first year of eligibility reflects the effort, value and energy the Sparc team brings to our customers every day.”
Sparc will be featured along with brands like Intuit, Zappos, Microsoft, Pandora, Oracle and LivingSocial in the September issue of Inc. magazine.
