Charleston-based Maverick Southern Kitchens plans to build a 145-seat restaurant at The Boulevard Apartments development in Mount Pleasant, according to the company.

The Boulevard is a mixed-use apartment and retail community under construction in Mount Pleasant.

The restaurant at 735 Coleman Blvd. will feature a dining room, bar and outdoor seating, according to the company. It will be open for dinner seven nights a week with brunch on Sundays.

The Boulevard Apartments are set to open this fall. The restaurant is projected to open by late fall. No other information is available at this time.

Dick Elliott, president and founder of Maverick Southern Kitchens, said he was drawn to open a restaurant at The Boulevard because of Mount Pleasant’s plan to create a downtown atmosphere on Coleman Boulevard.

“With its Boulevard Apartments, The Beach Co. has produced a wonderful beginning for the vision,” Elliott said in a news release. “We see our restaurant location as the center of what will be a pedestrian-friendly, livable Main Street.”

Maverick Southern Kitchens owns Slightly North of Broad, High Cotton, Maverick Bar and Grill and Charleston Cooks in Charleston; the Old Village Post House and Maverick Inn and Restaurant in Mount Pleasant; and High Cotton and Maverick Bar and Grill in Greenville.
