More than 1,000 people feasted on the culinary creations of 27 Lowcountry chefs at the 2013 Chefs’ Feast benefiting the Lowcountry Food Bank Sunday night.
The event raised $167,000, which will be used to support the food bank’s BackPack Buddies and Kids Cafe programs. Both programs feed more than 4,000 children each week through hot daily meals and backpacks filled with food for the weekends, the food bank said.
“These children are just like your children,” said Pat Walker, president and CEO of the Lowcountry Food Bank. “Only they experience hunger.”
