Between courses, Matt and Ted Lee will discuss how they wrote The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen as a tribute to the classic cuisine of the Holy City and how Charleston made them the cooks they are today.

The Palmetto Cafe, located inside Charleston Place Hotel, recently reopened after a six-week renovation.

The new design draws inspiration from Charleston’s famed courtyard gardens, according to a news release. It features green walls with antique wrought-iron planters, 19th-century mirrors and water fountains and Southern Colonial-inspired furnishings.

The cafe’s menu will feature some returning items, like the seafood club, as well as new additions like duck confit and waffles sandwich, a pad thai octopus salad and seafood tacos of lobster, shrimp and tuna.

The Palmetto Cafe is open daily for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch, and is available for private functions in the evening.

The Coastal Cupboard will host Matt and Ted Lee for a meet-and-greet with fans and an in-store book signing featuring the release of their newest cookbook, The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen. The event is 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Coastal Cupboard on Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant.
