Cox Media Group said Tuesday it sold its Greenville radio stations WJMZ-FM and WHZT-FM to SummitMedia for an undisclosed price.

The sale was part of a portfolio realignment plan announced last year. Atlanta-based Cox also said Tuesday it sold Connecticut radio stations to Connoisseur Media, and some stations in Alabama, Hawaii, Kentucky and Virginia to SummitMedia.

SummitMedia is a new company led by former Heftel Broadcasting executive Carl Parmer and 16-year Cox Birmingham market manager David DuBose, according to the industry trade publication Inside Radio.

The sales are expected to close during the second quarter following receipt of regulatory approvals.

"These are all important brands powered by talented media professionals who tirelessly serve their audiences, advertisers and communities," Cox President Doug Franklin said in a news release. "We wish all of the employees well and know they will continue to work hard to produce quality entertainment, news and information for their customers and new owners."
